Commodo – ‘$pace Cash’ (DEEP MEDi Records) [MEDI071]

We are excited this July for the forthcoming 3 track EP from Commodo, who returns to DEEP Medi with soul infused percussion dubstep beats. It is clear that Commodo has locked down the sound that is always felt to be close to Mala’s heart; developing his own inventiveness through influences such as MF Doom and Madlib. There is an essence of swing hiphop rhythms and funk in this EP, with his futuristic jazz grooves being praised by Mr Gilles Peterson. This EP combines the best features of authentic dubstep sounds with a glitch-hop style that has been heavily supported by the likes of Mala, Pinch, Youngsta and Joe Nice.

As a producer he has had music featured on the seminal mix series ‘Dubstep Allstars’ and won ‘Best Remix’ at Dubstepforum’s 2013 awards with his interpretation of the MEDi classic ‘Miracles’.
